The Art Classes at Creston School are very busy making incredible creations!

3rd Grade Silhouettes

Our 3rd Grade had fun holding still like statues while I traced around their individual shadows.  We were able to do this by using a simple light projector and paper.  Students faced one direction to show their profiles and their shadows were then projected onto the taped paper on the wall.

4th Grade Sand Layering Art

With this project, our 4th Graders were the teachers and Mrs. Loeffelholz was the student for a change!  In Art class, students were deciding exactly how much of which color to put where and Mrs. Loeffelholz funneled the sand into their chosen bottles.  Some children enjoyed positioning the funnel in order to get a slope-like effect on either side.  Awe overcame us as the patterns and lines varied dramatically from one pupil’s artwork to another.

7th Grade Eraser Stamping

Our 7th grade class used geometric shapes to come up with a design all their own for this artwork.  Their work area was extremely limited seeing as all they had to work with was the surface of a 1” by 1” eraser top! Mrs. Loeffelholz then used an xacto razor to subtract the negative space from their eraser tops.  The students then pressed their cut eraser tops into ink and made prints on their pencil drawn grids.  Way to go, 7th Grade!
