Kindergarten Holidays

The Kindergarten class took time to learn about the pilgrims and Native Americans as we prepared for Thanksgiving.  We made costumes, and then everyone brought traditional food to share at our feast.  We had a sampling of dried fruit and meat, nuts, cornbread and a pumpkin treat, even a taste of turkey and our homemade butter.  To complete our celebration, we did the Turkey Pokey, then made and played a Native American stick game.

With December comes the preparation for the annual Gingerbread Man play.  The boys and girls, (and pigs, cows, dogs, and cats) will be memorizing their lines and rehearsing in preparation for our big show.  We will be reading and comparing a number of stories about the Gingerbread Man, then trying our hand at baking our own gingerbread man cookie.  Our cookie boy has been difficult to keep track of in the past, but this class is too clever to let that happen.  He is sure to taste great with our morning milk!

Have a happy holiday season!
