STUDENT EDUCATIONAL RECORDS

Confidential student records are kept on every Creston student. District #161’s policy on student records provides that parents be notified annually that the privacy of student records is protected and that the records are for the use of authorized district personnel. A parent may request and will be provided access to his/her child’s record and may challenge the information contained in the record. No records are released without parent/guardian signing a Release of Records form. The district is required to review all records to verify entries and make appropriate corrections or deletions every four years, or upon a student’s change in attendance centers, whichever occurs first.
