Message From the Superintendent

On behalf of the Creston School Board, I want to welcome you to

Creston Community Consolidated School for the 2005-2006 school year.

Beginning a new school year is always an exciting and industrious time for

everyone.  We especially want to welcome all our new students and their

families to our school community.  It is most evident our students, teachers,

and parents have a tremendous pride in Creston School.  We provide a

strong basic curriculum centered in an excellent environment so students

can develop mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially.

This handbook is provided to acquaint both parents and students with

the rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and activities at Creston School.

Please keep this handbook for reference during the school year.

The staff and I are committed to continued school improvement at

all levels of the program.  We have aggressively moved to align our

curriculum to the state standards. Our state assessment scores and the

National Iowa Tests of Basic Skills indicate our students are meeting and

exceeding in all areas.  We are committed to providing all of our students

quality instruction to prepare them for the future.

The Creston School Board continues to take the necessary steps to

provide the best possible education for all the children in the community.

The safety and security of the children and staff remain a priority with

drills, education, and coordination of agencies.  Please join with us as

we plan for the future of the school within the growing community.

We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with your child

this year and are confident it will be a very successful year.

Sincerely,

Dr. George R. Kokaska

Superintendent
