FIELD TRIP CHAPERONE GUIDELINES

The following are guidelines and expectations for all classroom chaperones wishing to go on school field trips:

1. All chaperones are expected to be an adult supervisor of the children attending the field trip. Therefore, chaperones must either be a parent, legal guardian, or grandparent.

2. Because of the responsibility of supervising several children for the entire duration of the trip, no younger siblings should be brought along.

3. All chaperones are expected to enforce the standard school discipline code for all students.

4. As with any school functions, the use of tobacco products is not allowed at any time throughout the trip.

5. Chaperones pay their own entrance/admission fees.

6. Chaperones are expected to ride the bus with the children unless there is a capacity problem to be solved.

Chaperones are very important to the success of every field trip. They perform a valuable function and are truly appreciated. If you have any questions regarding any of these guidelines, please contact your child’s teacher.
