Creston School Athletic Programs are directed toward the student’s growth as an individual – mentally, emotionally, physically, and socially. Athletics should provide:
Competition is conducted in volleyball for 7th and 8th grade students. The volleyball coach is Mrs. Leann Thompson. All games are at 4:15.
Competition is conducted in basketball for grades 5 through 8 for both boys and girls. All games are governed by the rules and regulations of the Meridian Conference. Boys’ and girls’ basketball coach is Mr. Dave Bubik.
The school mascot name is the Creston Colts, and the school colors are deep purple and white. Students, parents, and friends are welcome to attend games and support the athletes.
Admission to home games is set by the conference at $1.00 for students (K-8) and $2.00 for high school/adult, and our senior citizens are welcome without charge.
ATHLETIC ELIGIBILITY – GRADES 4-8
A student becomes ineligible to participate in the athletic program (volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, and track), if he/she has a “D” or “F” in any subject area. Athletic eligibility is determined weekly. Students should discuss this process with their respective teachers. It is the responsibility of the student to fulfill the eligibility requirement.
CHEERLEADING
Cheerleaders are chosen for the Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball teams. Try-outs are in the fall of each year. Coach is Mrs. Rodeghero.
