DISCIPLINE POLICY, continued

AUTOMATIC FIVE-HOUR WILL BE GIVEN FOR THE FOLLOWING:

1) Fighting on the school grounds, in the building, or to and from school.

This would include any school-sponsored event, contest, and field trips.

2) Stealing.

3) Defacing school property – in addition, the student (family) will be required

to make full restitution for the damage.

4) Insubordination: swearing, disrespect, talking back, and general disobedience

to school authority.

5) Possession of tobacco products of any nature.

6) Leaving school grounds without permission from the school.

7) Improper conduct on school grounds or immediately to and from school –

including improper display of affection.

8) Acts of deliberate plagiarism, deception, and forgery.

AUTOMATIC OUT-OF-SCHOOL SUSPENSION

An automatic out-of-school suspension up to 10 days and not excluding expulsion by the Board of Education may result from the following infractions:

1) Possession of weapons or look-a-likes

2) Gang paraphernalia or gang activity

3) Sexual harassment and/or abuse

4) Possession of fireworks or noxious substances

5) Extortion

6) Theft

7) False fire alarm

8) Bomb threats

9) Possession of drugs or alcohol and/or related paraphernalia

and/or look-a-likes

10) Threats of intended harm to school personnel, students, and property

11) Willful damage to school district property

12) Acts of terrorism
