Hi! My name is Mrs. Holderness. I am the second grade teacher at Creston School. I have been teaching for 27 years! This is my 28th year! Every one of those 27 years has been here at Creston School! I spent 6 years teaching the upper grade kids--6th grade, 5/6 grade together, and 7th and 8th grade history. Then, I spent 13 years teaching first grade. In the last years, I have been teaching 2nd grade. My favorite thing to teach is Science. We do many fun science units including Wild Animals, Solar System, Dinosaurs and the Ocean Unit. On a personal note, I am from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I graduated from South Dakota State University. I am married to a man named Gary. I have two children named Chad and Kristin and a stepdaughter named Risa. I also have a beautiful grandaughter named Abby. When I am not spending time with my family, I enjoy golf, tennis, and volleyball. We do a lot of neat activities in the 2nd Grade! We have centers during reading time. We work through many engaging activities in our science units. We go on several different field trips each year such as Brookfield Zoo, Blackberry Farm, the Pumpkin Patch, and the Science Museum. |
