Greetings from Kindergarten! I am Mrs. Johnson, your child's Kindergarten teacher at Creston School! I have been teaching since 1996. Since 1998, I have been at Creston. I taught two years here in third grade and have been at Kindergarten ever since. I truly enjoy the enthusiasm and excitement that Kindergartners bring to school daily. My family and I live in rural Rochelle. My husband, Brian, is the Rochelle Fire Chief and a carpenter. We have a son, Ben, who is a firefighter in Rochelle. Our daughter, Emily, is married to a man named Anthony, and they have a daughter, Norah June, who was born in December 2010. We also have two dogs and a cat. I am a true animal lover, having always had a horse, dog, or cat my entire life. In my free time, I like to help my husband with carpentry projects, sew, craft, hunt antiques, and visit the gym. I also love searching for projects and planning activities for the classroom. Kindergarten is full of fun activities. We work through several units as the year progresses. During the Gingerbreak Unit, we have a class play, bake cookies and have fun in our bakery center. During our Postal Unit, we write letters, learn about addresses, have fun in our Post Office center, and take a field trip to the real Creston Post Office. During our Thanksgiving Unit, we play Native American/Pilgrim Games and enjoy a feast together! |
